A survey about the acceptance of the contents in living will among senior residents

Abstract：Objective To investigate the acceptance of the contents in living will among senior residents.Method A self-designed questionnaire was used to explore the cognition and acceptance of living will contents of 394 senior residents in one nursing home,one community hospital and two communities in Shaughai PuDong.Results Only 8.88％ investigated senior residents knew living will.Senior residents showed a relatively high acceptance of healthcare attorney and medical choice,words left to family members,and a comparatively low acceptance of personal life care and spiritual care needs.The influence factors included age,gender,working condition,faith and monthly income.Conclusion Amendments of living will text in China should adapt with culture and tradition.
