The level and influencing factors of posttraumatic growth in the parents of children with malignant bone tumor

Abstract:Objective To investigate the level and influencing factors of posttraumatic growth in the parents of children with malignant bone tumor.Methods Totally,87 parents of children with malignant bone tumor were investigated by general information questionnaire,Posttraumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI),Social Support Rate Scale (SSRS) and Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ).Results The total scores of PTGI was (64.92±8.61),the total score of SSRS was (34.77±4.51),the score of positive coping style was (1.67±0.27),the score of negative coping style was (1.03±0.26).Multiple regression analysis showed that the course of disease,family monthly income per capita,social support and positive coping style were main influencing factors of posttraumatic growth in the parents of children with malignant bone tumor (P<0.01).Conclusion The medical staff should pay attention to posttraumatic growth level and influencing factors of the parents of children with malignant bone tumor.Then provide targeted and personalized nursing measures for patient,in order to improve the level of posttraumatic growth.Thereby provide the better care and support,improve the treatment effect of children and promote their physical and mental growth.
