The influence of disease benefit finding on self-care efficacy in cancer patients

Abstract：Objective To investigate the influence of disease benefit finding on self-care efficacy in cancer patients,and provide the theoretical basis for the medical staff to improve disease benefit finding and self-care efficacy of cancer patients.Methods Totally,362 cancer patients were surveyed by using general information questionnaire,Benefit Finding Scale for Adults (BFS-A) and Strategies Used by People to Promote Health (SUPPH).Results The level of cancer patients' disease benefit finding and self-care efficacy were in the medium,disease benefit finding and self-care efficacy were positively related (P＜0.01),personal growth,social relationship and health behavior were the important influencing factors of self-care efficacy.Conclusion Cancer patients' self-care efficacy in the medium level,nursing staff and managers should pay attention to and improve cancer patients' disease benefit,so as to enhance their self-care efficacy.
