Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of cognitive behavioral oriented group intervention on irrational beliefs in empty-nest eld?erly.Method Totally,62 empty-nest elderly were intervented in group with cognitive behavioral orientation,and were assessed by the Irra?tional Beliefs Scale(IBS)before and after intervention.Results The scores of IBS and low frustration tolerance,generalization comments and absolute demands after intervention were lower than those of before(P<0.01 or P<0.05).Conclusion Cognitive behavioral oriented group intervention can help empty-nest elderly correcting irrational beliefs and managing emotions.
