Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation of optimistic tendency, illness perception and posttraumatic growth(PTG)of post?operative chemotherapy inpatients with breast cancer, and to provide basis for clinical intervention.Method Using General Information Ques?tionnaire,Posttraumatic Growth Inventory(PTGI),Revised Life Orientation Test(LOT-R),and Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire(BI?PQ)to investigate 150 breast cancer patients. Results The score of the PTG of breast cancer patients was(57.57±10.11),optimistic tend?ency score was(15.13±4.03)and illness perception score was(41.07±6.77).Spearman correlation analysis showed that the five dimension scores and total score of PTG were positively correlated with optimistic tendency score(P<0.01),and negatively correlated with illness per?ception score(P<0.01).Conclusion There is a certain degree of PTG in breast cancer patients, and is associated with optimistic tendency and illness perception. The medical staff should pay attention to the psychological changes of breast cancer patients, encourage the patients to adjust themselves with positive and optimistic attitude, reduce the negative illness perception,so as to promote their posttraumatic growth.
