Risk factors of short-term poor prognosis in patients with the first-episode ischemic stroke

Abstract:Objective To investigate the risk factors of short-term poor prognosis in patients with the first-episode ischemic stroke. Methods Totally,142 first-episode ischemic stroke patients were investigated by general data questionnaire and simplified modified Rankin Scale questionnaire.The data were analyzed using Logistic regression analysis.Results A total of 82 patients suffered from poor prognosisat 3 months after discharge.Logistic regression analysis showed that age≥60 years,hypertension,diabetes and increased the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)score on admission were related to poor prognosis among patients with the first-episode ischemic stroke at 3 months after discharge.Conclusion The great majority patients with first-episode ischemic stroke suffered from short-time poor prognosis, and the risk factors were advanced age,hypertension,diabetes and increased NIHSS scores on admission.
