The effect of Roy's Adaptation Model in esophageal cancer postoperative patients with sleep disorder

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of the Roy's Adaptation Model in sleep disorder of patients with esophageal cancer postop-erative.Methods One hundred esophageal cancer postoperative patients with sleep disorders were divided into the experimental group and the control group according to the admission date.The control group performed usual nursing,while the experimental group received the Roy's Adaptation Model intervention,including primary assessment,secondary assessment,nursing diagnosis,setting goals,implementing nursing measures and effect evaluation.Results The experimental group had significant differences in the total scores,sleep quality,sleep disorder, hours of sleep,sleep efficiency,use of hypnotic agents,and daytime dysfunction with the control group after intervention (P < 0. 01 or P<0.05).Conclusion The Roy's Adaptation Model can promote the sleep quality of esophageal cancer postoperative patients,and is helpful for recovery and the quality of life.
