The application of PDCA cycle in the management of pressure ulcer in cancer patients

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of PDCA cycle in reducing under-report situation of pressure ulcer high risk cases in cancer patients.Methods The problems existing in the process of management according to the hospital acquired pressure injury and high risk cases reported during April to December in 2015 were surveyed and annlyzed,and compare the under-report situation before and after applying two cycles of PDCA from January 2016 to June 2017.Results After the implementation of PDCA cycle in pressure ulcer manage-ment,the under-report rate of pressure ulcer high risk cases reduced from 52.00％ to 37.84％ and 17.78％,and the incidence of pressure ul-cer reduced 28.85％ .Conclusion The application of PDCA cycle can regulate the management of pressure ulcer,reduce the under-report cases of high risk of pressure ulcer in cancer patients,and improve the quality of pressure ulcer management effectively.
