The protection status of the rights and interests of midwives and relevant factors in China

Abstract：Objective To investigate the protection status of the rights and interests of midwives,and analyze the relevant factors. Method Totally,335 midwives from 21 hospitals of 5 provinces including Beijing,Shandong,Hu'nan,Guangxi and Yunnan were investigated by self-designed questionnaires about the protection status of the rights and interests of midwives.Results The total score of questionnaires about the protection status was (128.63±25.59),the score of each dimension was less than 4.Multiple linear regression showed that the rele-vant factors of protection status were contract type and hospital level.Conclusion The protection status of the rights and interests of midwives is at a moderate level,which is effected by the hospital level and contract type.Hospital managers should take some effective measures to en-hance the rights and interests of midwives to stabilize the team and ensure midwifery quality.
