Investigation of nutritional risk and nutritional support in elderly hospitalized patients

Abstract：Objective To investigate the nutritional risk and nutritional support status of the elderly inpatients,so as to provide guidance and reference for improving the nutritional status of elderly hospitalized patients.Methods Totally,269 elderly hospitalized patients were investigated by nutritional risk screening 2002,nutritional support status,enteral nutrition support status,and parenteral nutrition support.Results About 40.15％ of elderly hospitalized patients had nutritional risk,55.02％ of elderly hospitalized patients were treated with nutritional support,82.41％ had nutritional risk and 36.65％ had no nutritional risk of patients who receibe nutritional support,7.06％ of elderly hospitalized patients were treated with enteral nutrition support,43.12％ of elderly hospitalized patients with parenteral nutrition support,4.83％ of elderly hospitalized patients with enteral and parenteral nutrition support combined treatment.Conclusion There are nutritional risks in elderly patients,and the clinical application of intestinal and parenteral nutrition is unreasonable,which the managers should strengthen the mutrition management.
