A Meta analysis of the effect of low carbohydrate diet on acute exacerbation COPD patients' respiratory functional status

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the effect of Low Carbohydrate Diet (LCD) on acute exacerbation COPD (AECOPD) patients.Method Through searching the databases,relative researches were selected to be analyzed after quality evaluation,the results were described and explained.Results A total of 8 RCTs were included,involving 337 patients,the Meta analysis results showed that LCD had no significant effect on AECOPD patients'lung functional test,but had a significant difference on ventilation indexes and blood gas analysis results (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion LCD is beneficial to AECOPD patients'ventilation conditions and correct their hypercapnia.The long-term efficacy in LCD on AECOPD patients needs deeper research.
