Application of SHEL model in nurses'safety cognition training

Abstract:Objective To explore the application and the effectiveness evaluation of SHEL model in nurses' safety cognition training. Methods Totally, 150 clinical nurses were selected as the observation group and 150 clinical nurses were the control group. The control group was treated with conventional safety management method. The observation group adopted the SHEL mode to set the contents and the implementation plans from 4 aspects including software,hardware, environment and litigant parts. After the training,the scores of the two groups of nurses ' knowledge cognition and the satisfaction degree of patients were com-pared. Results The scores of nursing content,safety consciousness,living details in observation group were higher than those in control group after training (P < 0. 01),and patients satisfaction was significantly increased(P < 0. 01). Conclusion SHEL model is helpful to improve nurses' cognition of safety knowl-edge,strengthen their safety consciousness,improve nursing safety management ability,and promote patients' satisfaction.
