Influences on stigma and social function in nursing mode of patients and mutual assistance for patients with lung cancer

Abstract:Objective To explore the influences of stigma and social function in nursing mode of patients and mutual assistance for patients with lung cancer. Methods A total of 80 lung cancer patients were divided into the observation group and the control group,each of which had 40 cases. Patients in the control group received traditional routine nursing. Patients in the observation group received the nursing mode of patients and mutual assistance on the basis of routine nursing which included recruiting and training volunteers,who received systematic training through centralism teaching,discussing and scenario simulation training from 1 chief physi-cian and 2 co - chief superintendent nurse of respiratory department. After training,volunteers provided service for patients with lung cancer. Results Observation group had lower score of stigma (P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01)and higher score of quality of life than that of control group (P < 0. 01). Conclusion The implementation of patients and mutual assistance on patients with lung cancer significantly reduced patients' stigma and improved their quality of life.
