Quality analysis of discharge instruction among 707 hospitalized patients

Abstract：Objective To investigate the quality of discharge instruction among patients,provide reference for promoting the quality of discharge instruc-tion,so as to meet the patients' healthy needs after discharge. Methods Discharged patients were surveyed by using general information questionnaire and the Quality of Discharge Teaching Scale(QDTS). Results The total score of the QDTS was (145. 93 ± 29. 51). The total scores of the QDTS of different depart-ments were statistically different(P < 0. 01),the score of internal medicine and oncology patients were lower than those in other departments. Surgical patients'content receiving significantly higher than the content needs(P < 0. 05). The scores of patients' discharge insrtuction skills and effects were higher than 8. 0. Conclusion The level of the patients' perception of quality of discharge insrtuction is middle to high. Managers should give guidance and help according to the characteristics of different departments,while clinical nurses should give discharge insrtuction based on the characteristics of ward patients,improve teaching methods,pay more attention to detail guidance and feedback,to provide the quality of discharge insrtuction.
