The ventilator associated pneumonia prevention and current situation in separation of knowledge and practice of minority ICU nurses

Abstract：Objective To investigate ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP)prevention strategies,attitude,behavior situation and the current situation of separation of knowledge and practice on ICU minority nurses. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on 196 minority ICU nurses about VAP prevention strategies and behavior. Results The standardization scores of knowledge,attitude and behavior of VAP prevention strategies among minority ICU nurses were re-spectively (50. 23 ± 10. 49),(69. 27 ± 6. 00)and (86. 61 ± 10. 61). ICU minority nurses with different ager,professional titles,energy levels,whether have spe-cial nursing qualifications and nurse level showed knowledge and behavior separation in VAP prevention strategy and cognitive behavior. Conclusion The minor-ity ICU nurses should strengthen the VAP prevention strategy knowledge training,improve the cognition of nurses through a vanety of ways to promote the coopera-tion of the minority ICU nurses.
