An analysis on the status of thrombolysis knowledge of ischemic stroke among residents from 10 communities in Beijing

Abstract：Objective To investigate the status of thrombolysis knowledge of ischemic stroke in Beijing community residents.Methods A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate 330 residents from 10 communities in Beijing.Results The awareness rate of early symptom knowledge of ischemic stroke among residents from 10 communities in Beijing was 26.97％ ～ 88.18％.The awareness rate of thrombolysis decision-making knowledge among community residents was 19.39％ ～ 82.12％.There was a statistical difference in the knowledge level of ischemic stroke among patients with different educational degrees,monthly income and physical examination frequency (P ＜0.05).The main ways for community residents to acquire the knowledge of thrombolysis were television,mobile information,newspapers,magazines,and doctors.Conclusion Professional medical institutions should contact with the media,provide multi-ways to strengthen the knowledge of thrombolysis of ischemic stroke among community residents in Beijing,focus on the low cultural level and low-income people,and advise residents to do regular physical examinations.
