A study on the relationship between nurses' perception of nursing work environment and work engagement in operation room

Abstract:Objective To investigate the status of nurses'perception of nursing environment and work engagement in operation room,and analyze the relationship between them.Methods Totally,200 nurses from the operation room were investigated using the Practice Environment Scale of the Nursing Work Index (PES-NWI) and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale.Results The score of the PES-NWI was (3.05 ± 0.46),the score of nurses' work engagement was (3.54 ± 0.55).The number of night shifts per month and nurses' perception of nursing work environment in operation room were the influencing factors of work engagement.Conclusion Nursing manager should think highly of the creation of good nursing environment,improving the nurses' recognition of work environment in operation room and work engagement,and then improve the quality of nursing.
