The status of physician-nurse collaboration in nutritional support among ICU patients in 2-level and 3-level hospitals in Suzhou

Abstract:Objective To investigate the status of physician-nurse collaboration in nutritional support among ICU patients in 2-level and 3-level hospitals in Suzhou,and to analyze the influencing factors.Methods Totally,331 physicians and nurses were investigated by the Nurse-Physician Collaboration Scale (NPCS) in 5 2-level hospitals and 10 3-level hospitals in Suzhou.Results The level of physician-nurse collaboration in physicians was superior to that of nurses.Multiple regression analysis showed that profession,work seniority,education and professional title were the influencing factors of physician-nurse collaboration.Conclusion The physician-nurse collaboration in nutritional support among ICU patients in 2-level and 3-level hospitals is at a moderate level.Administrators should take measures to improve the physician-nurse collaboration according to the influencing factors.
