The application and effect of project management by specialized nurses in quality control of intravenous therapy

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of project management by specialized nurses on the continuous quality control of intravenous therapy.Methods To set up the project management team by the specialized nurses,determine the quality of intravenous treatment monitoring indicators,formulate the project management plan,revise the system standard and implement the project management.Results After implementing project management,high-risk drug leakage rate decreased (P ＜ 0.01),venous catheter-related complications decreased (P ＜ 0.01 or P ＜ 0.05),the correct rate of transfusion tool selection and the qualified rate of venous catheter maintenance were improved (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion The project management led by specialized nurses on the continuous quality control of intravenous therapy,which can effectively promote the quality of intravenous infusion therapy,improve the correctness of transfusion tool selection and improve the qualified rate of vein catheterization.
