Relationship between psychological capital and professional identity in vocational nursing students

Abstract：Objective To investigate the status and the relationship between psychological capital and professional identity of vocational nursing students.Methods Totally,278 vocational nursing students were surveyed with general data questionnaire,psychological capital scale and professional identity scale.Results The score of vocational nursing students'psychological capital was (4.40 + 0.55),the mean score of professional identity was (3.61 + 0.36).Psychological capital and professional identity degree were positively correlated(P ＜ 0.01),hope and self-efficacy were the main influence factors of professional identity.Conclusion The professional identity of vocational nursing students was at lower level.Nursing educator and administrator should attach importance to training of psychological capital,improve the level of professional identity,and promote the professional development of nursing.
