A study of disaster nursing core competence and influencing factors among clinical male nurses

Abstract:Objective To investigate the status and influencing factors of disaster nursing core competence among clinical male nurses,so as to provide basis for continuing vocational education and training of disaster nursing among male nurses.Methods A total of 176 clinical male nurses were selected from 2 3A-level hospitals to survey their disaster nursing core competence and influencing factors.Results The score of disaster nursing cornpetencies among clinical male nurses was (2.69 ±0.64).The highest and lowest scores of dimension were disaster nursing process(2.86 +0.72) and disaster nursing professional development (2.28 ±0.80).Participating in disaster nursing and disaster nursing training were the main influencing factors of clinical male nurses'disaster nursing competence.Conclusion The level of disaster nursing competence among clinical male nurses is low,especially on disaster nursing professional development.Managers should pay more attention to clinical male nurses'disaster skill training,according to disaster nursing experience and training for targeted disaster nursing training,so as to improve disaster nursing ability.
