Correlation research of uncertainty in illness and self-perceived burden in stroke patients

Abstract:Objective To explore the correlation between the uncertainty of illness and the burden of self-perception in stroke patients,so as to provide a basis for the development of nursing intervention measures.Methods A total of 414 stroke patients were selected and surveyed by the general information questionnaire,the Chinese version of the Mishel Disease Uncertainty Questionnaire and the Self-Feeling Burden Questionnaire.Results The total score of illness uncertainty in stroke patients was (70.68 ± 14.34),which was in a moderate level.Self-perceived burden score of stroke patients was (29.17 ± 7.64),88.16% of the patients felt different levels of self-perceived burden.Illness uncertainty were positively correlated with self-perceived burden (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05).Conclusion Medical staff should pay attention to the evaluation of the uncertainty in illness and self-perceived burden in stroke patients,and provide corresponding intervention measures,reduce the uncertainty in illness by reducing the level of self-perceived burden,finally promote the physical and mental health of store patients.
