The effect of employee assistance programs on occupational values and professional identity of male nurses

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) on occupational values and professional identity of male nurses.Methods Totally,80 male nurses were selected to provide EAPs service by group counseling and individual counseling,and evaluated by the nurses'occupational values and occupational identity scale before and after the intervention.Results After intervention,the occupational values and occupational identity of the male nurses were significantly better than those before the intervention (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion The EAPs can help to form the positive" occupational values and improve the professional identity for male nurses.
