The practice and effect of Seminar teaching method in enhancing critical thinking among nursing students in higher vocational college

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the effect of Seminar teaching method in enhancing critical thinking among nursing students in higher vocational college.Methods A total of 102 nursing students in higher vocational college were selected as the control group,and 100 nursing students in higher vocational college as the intervention group.The control group received the traditional teaching method,while the intervention group received the Seminar teaching method.The theory and operating scores and critical thinking ability at the end of teaching were compared.Results The intervention group had higher scores in theory and operating than the control group (P ＜ 0.01).The score of search for truth,open mindedness,systematization,self-confidence,curiosity in critical thinking ability in the intervention group were higher significantly than those of the control group (P ＜ 0.01 or P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Seminar method has a positive effect on comprehensive ability among nursing students in higher vocational college,which is worthy of further promotion in nursing education.
