The analysis of predictive value and related risk factors for perineal assessment tool on incontinent-associated dermatitis among ICU incontinent patients

Abstract：Objective To explore the predictive and cut-off value of perineal assessment tool for incontinent-associated dermatitis among ICU incontinence patients.Methods Picked up 130 cases from ICU as research objectors,recorded and analyzed the incontinence risk assessment and clinic document.All data of perineal assessment tool scores and clinical data were conducted.Predictive validity and cut-off value of perineal assessment tool were assessed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve.Results Analysis of risk factors of IAD based on perineal assessment tool showed that type of stool and scores of perineal assessment tool were the risk factors,while red blood count was the protective factor for incontinence patients.ROC indicated that the area under curve was 0.795 (P ＜0.01).When cut-off value of perineal assessment tool scores reached 8,the sensitivity (0.646) and specificity (0.850) reached the best balance.Conclusion Perineal assessment tool has high sensitivity and specificity in predicting IAD for incontinence patients among ICU and should be widely used.
