The construction and application of intervention for life meaning on advanced cancer patients

Abstract：Objective To promote the life meaning of advanced cancer patients in order to provide reference for assistant their hospice.Methods Totally,38 advanced cancer patients divided into the intervention group (n =18) and control group (n =20) by the stratified random sampling.The changes for the level of sense of meaningful life,the degree of psychological distress and the degree of anxiety depression were evaluated between the two groups before and after the intervention.Results The intervention group had lower degree of psychological distress and depression level compared with the control group.The intervention group had lower degree of psychological distress and depression level and higher level of sense of meaningful life after intervention.Conclusion The Meaning Making intervention (MMi) can alleviate the degree of psychological distress,promoting the sense of meaningful life,but be not sure about the effect on anxiety-depression.
