A survey on the cognition and attitude of Living Will in community elderly

Abstract:Objective To investigate the cognition and attitude of Living Will in community elderly.Methods A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the cognition and attitude of Living Will in 394 community elderlies from two communities one community hospital and one nursing home,in Pudong district.Results The cognition of Living Will was at a low level 8.88%,however,most elderlies showed a positive attitude.Through multivariate regression analysis,the influence factors included age,gender,marriage situation,living situation and whether had experienced the dying process.Conclusion The elderly have a low cognitive level on Living Will and managers should think about its culture and tradition while generalizing Living Will in China.
