The investigation and analysis of self-care behavior among the elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Abstract：Objective To explore the self-care behavior and influencing factors of elderly patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease(COPD) in community.Methods The general information questionnaire and the self nursing behavior scale questionnaire were used to investigate 385 patients with COPD.Results The total score of self care behavior in elderly patients with COPD was (86.18 ± 5.26),the average item score was (2.47 ± 0.26),the average item score of needs of health deviation self-care behavior was (2.13 ± 0.22).Education,marital status,family monthly income,living conditions were the main influencing factors of the self care behavior.Conclusion Self-care behavior of the elderly patients with COPD is in the middle level,the community nursing staff should acknowledge the situation and influencing factors of self care behavior and give appropriate intervention measures to improve the self-care level.
