The level and influencing factors of subjective well-being among the elderly in endowment institution in Urumqi

Abstract：Objective To investigate the status and the influencing factors of subjective well-being among the elderly.Methods Totally,286 elderly in 12 endowment institution in Urumqi were investigated using Memorial University of Newfoudland Scale of Happiness (MUNSH) and Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) elderly.Resuits The average score of subjective well-being was (31.10 ± 12.05);Univariated analysis showed that visiting times by children,whether optimism,having interest or not,economic self-evaluation,institution quality of service,self-care status and the score of elderly subjective well-being differences were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05);The total score and each dimension in the MUNSH and the total score of SSRS,subjective support and support utilization was significantly correlated (P ＜ 0.01).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that whether optimism,having interest or not,economic self-evaluation,institution quality of service in endowment institution,subjective support and support utilization were the influencing factors of subjective well-being among elderly.Conclusion The situation of subjective well-being among the elderly in endowment institution is in a middle level,to carry out personalized care services based on psychosomatic condition of the elderly to improve the life quality and promote their subjective well-being.
