Nurses ’ knowledge about washing and disinfection of ventilators

Abstract：Objective To investigate nurses’ knowledge about washing and disinfection ventilators,so as to discuss the effective management strategies for washing and disinfection of ventilators. Methods A self - designed questionnaire of general data,washing and disinfection knowledge of ventilators and nurses’ access for washing and disinfection ventilator were used to surveye 162 nurses in the divisions using ventilator. Results The mean score of the mastery degree on washing and disinfection knowledge of ventilators was 2. 56,which was at the medium range. About 72. 22% nurses obtained knowledge related to washing and disinfection of ventilators by means of division training,while the hospital level training did not develop. Conclusion Hospital managers should make training objectives that are fit for practical clinic work to improve nurses’knowledge about washing and disinfection of ventilators,strengthen quality management awareness on washing and disinfection of ventilators,and finally realize the purpose to effectively prevent the occurring of infections’ related to ventilators.
