Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effects of the comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation program on the quality of life in elderly COPD patients. Methods Totally,200 COPD patients in October 2012 to September 2013,were divided into the experimental group and the control group,100 cases in each group. The control group received conventional TCM rehabilitation nursing, the experimental group received oxygen therapy and comprehensive pulmonary respira-tory rehabilitation guided by breath training besides those nursing interventions in the control group. Changes of the two groups were compared before and after treatment in pulmonary function, symptoms, activity and impact. Results There were significant differences in the forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1),per second to forced vital capacity ratio(FEV1/FVC),airway symptoms, impact, and activity between the two groups(P ﹤0. 01 or P ﹤0. 05). Conclusion The implementation of comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation program can improve pulmonary function, symptoms, impect, and activity signifi-cantly in patients with COPD. It is worthy of clinical promotion.
