Investigation of needs of ICU patientsˊrelatives

Abstract：Objective To investigate the needs of ICU patientsˊfamily members,so as to improve the quality of nursing care for critically ill patient. Method Totally,98 patientsˊfamilies were investigated with Critical Care Family Needs Inventory( CCFNI). Results The average score of familiesˊneeds was (3. 10 ± 0. 50). The dimension scores of illness ensurance,getting information,being close to patientˊs need,medical staff support and comfort of families were (3.64±0.51),(3.38±0.53),(3.36±0.55),(2.70±0.64),and(2.68±0.74).Patientsfamiliesˊdemandsweredifferentindifferentagegroups (P﹤0. 05). Conclusion ICU nurses should value and understand the different needs of critical patientsˊfamilies in different age stages,and provide personal-ized care for them,so as to improve the quality of nursing in ICU.
