The study of cancer-related fatigue,coping style and quality of life in breast cancer patients

Abstract:Objective To investigate the cancer-related fatigue,coping styles and quality of life( QOL)in breast cancer patients and analyze the relation-ship among them. Methods The Cancer Fatigue Scale( CFS ),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire( SCSQ ),Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy (FACT)wereusedin205breastcancerinpatientsinatertiaryhospitalofBeijing.Results Theaveragescoreofcancerfatiguewas(21.96 ±7.92).Negative coping score was below the domestic norm(P﹤ 0. 01). And the quality of life score was(91. 10 ± 20. 33). Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that age,place of residence,the burden of medical expenses,the treatment( endocrinotherapy and targeted therapy),body fatigue,emotional fatigue,positive coping and negative coping were influence factors of quality of life(P﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion The quality of life of patients with breast cancer is at the medium to low level,especially the emotional and functional status. Relieving fatigue and improving postive coping may help improve the quality of life of them.
