The path analysis of influence of psychological resilience and self - efficacy on nursesˊjob satisfaction

Abstract:Objective To determine the relationship of clinical nursesˊpsychological resilience,self-efficacy and job satisfaction,thus to provide basis to im-prove nursesˊjob satisfaction. Methods A total of 633 clinical nurses were investigated with Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale( CD-RISC),General Self-Effi-cacy Scale( GSES)and the Mc-Closkey/Mueuer Satisfaction Scale( MMSS). Results The scores of nursesˊpsychological resilience,self-efficacy and job satis-faction were(63. 81 ± 13. 82)(,25. 27 ± 5. 39)and(94. 00 ± 19. 15),respectively. Psychological resilience and self-efficacy were positively correlated with the job satisfaction,and psychological resilience was positively correlated with self-efficacy. Structural equation modeling analysis showed that both psychological resili-ence and self-efficacy had directly positive effects on job satisfaction,psychological resilience had directly positive effects on self-efficacy,and self-efficacy me-diated the relationship between psychological resilience and job satisfaction(P﹤0. 01). Conclusion The level of nursesˊjob satisfaction has great room to improve, self-efficacy and psychological resilience have significant positive prediction on job satisfaction.
