Abstract:ZIF-8/g-C3N4 heterojunction composites were prepared using ultrasound in situ method at room temperature. The photodegradation efficiency of tetracycline hydrochloride(TC)under simulated visible light was evaluated as well. The results indicate that ZIF-8/g-C3N4 exhibit improved photodegradation efficiency compared to the bare ZIF-8 and bare g-C3N4.The experimental results showed that the maximum light absorption range of ZIF-8/g-C3N4 composite photocatalyst was 470 nm,which was significantly improved compared with that of bare ZIF-8.The energy bandgap of the composite photocatalyst was significantly reduced to 2.79 eV.The ZG-2 composite was highly effective for the removal of TC at the concentration of 50 mg/L for 90 min under illumination. The removal rate of TC at a concentration of 50 mg/L and the ZG-2 dosage of 500 mg/L reached 78.5%,which was 29 percentage points higher than that of g-C3N4,respectively.The combination of free radical capture and ESR experiments revealed that the main active radical that played a role in the removal of TC was h+.The 3-cycle experiments showed that the ZG-2 composite photocatalyst had good stability.
