Abstract:Using pig manure as raw material, pig manure hydrothermal carbon(HC)was prepared by hydrothermal carbon-ization method and magnetized with iron chloride solution to obtain magnetic hydrothermal carbon(MHC).The structure and properties of biochar before and after modification were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, specific surface area and pore size analysis, and the effects of adsorbent dosage, initial pH,adsorption time, coexisting ions on the adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ)in water by HC and MHC were studied. The results showed that the specif-ic surface area, pore volume, and oxygen-containing functional group content of MHC significantly increased, and the ad-sorption sites increased. When the dosage is 4 g/L and the initial pH of the solution is 2,the maximum adsorption capacity of MHC for 50 mg/L Cr(Ⅵ)is 12.32 mg/g,and the removal rate is 98.76%.The adsorption capacity of MHC for Cr(Ⅵ)is significantly improved. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm adsorption equations can better describe the adsorption char-acteristics of MHC for Cr(Ⅵ),and the Langmuir adsorption model is better, and the adsorption process is more in line with the quasi second-order adsorption kinetics equation.Coexisting ions have limited impact on the adsorption process at low concentrations.
