Abstract:This paper elaborated on a laboratory experiment which dealt with the performance of the visible light catalytic degradation of CeO2/g-C3N4,a novel composite photocatalyst, with tetracycline(TC)as a simulated pollutant, and CeO2/g-C3N4 was prepared by hydrothermal method, besides was characterized by XRD,SEM,UV-Vis,XPS and PL.As a result, the exper-iment showed that CeO2/g-C3N4 composite could broaden the range of CeO2 response to visible light, and effectively inhibit the photoelectron-hole recombination of g-C3N4,compared to solely g-C3N4 or CeO2 improving the activity of CeO2/g-C3N4 photocatalyst obviously. In the case where visible light irradiation lasted 90 min,and concentration of TC solution of 50 mg/L.the photodegradation rate could attain as high as 96.4%.As for the reuse of the catalyst, after five times recycle the efficiency of TC degradation remained at 76.5%,which showed its good stability. In addition, the study on the photocatalytic mechanism revealed that hole(h+)was the main active substance in photocatalytic degradation of TC.
