Abstract:This experimental study dealt with de-colorizing of Reactive-red-195 dye contained wastewater by the methode of electro-Fenton oxidation with a novel material as the carbon cathode, namely N-Co/C,which is a N-doped porous carbon material derived from metal organic frameworks(MOFs)synthesized by hybrid pyrolysis. The geometric morphology, physicochemical properties and electrochemical properties of the carbon material were investigated by SEM,FT-IR,XPS,XRD and electrochemical methods.Thereby, the electro-Fenton system with N-Co/C@CF as cathode was constructed for degradation of dye-wastewater of Reactive-red-195.The experimental study presented that the N-doped carbon material had an amorphous structure, and larger specific surface area.Graphite nitrogen and pyridine nitrogen in the carbon material were favorable for the 2-electron reaction in the process of oxygen reduction. After N doping was done, the conductivity, adsorption capacity for O2 and reduction capacity of N-Co/C@CF electrode were remarkably improved, and the N-Co/C-600@CF elec-trode that was calcined at 600 ℃ resulted in the best performance. In conclusion, applying N-Co/C-600@CF as the cathode to degrade Reactive-red-195 under the condition that electrolytic voltage was 3 V,Fe2+concentration was 20 mg/L,pH of 3 in the wastwater and O2 flow rate was 60 mL/min,the decolorization rate in 90 min and COD removal rate could reach 99.66%and 72.87%,respectively.Additionally,the cathode after being reused for 6 cycles could still maintain 93.54%of decoloriza-tion rate, which proved that N-Co/C@CF cathode was excellent in stability.
