Abstract:Bauxite slime substrates modified by leguminous plants can promote the rational utilization bauxite slime. In this paper,a greenhouse pot experiment was conducted with bauxite slime as the substrate and legumes such as Glycine max,Aeachis hypogaea,Medicago sativa and Astragalus sinicus as the test plants. As a result the experiment showed:the over-ground and underground bio-masses of the first two plants(Glycine max,Aeachis hypogaea)were(2.98±0.02)g/pot,(1.03± 0.08)g/pot and(9.21±1.63)g/pot,(1.12±0.09)g/pot,respectively,which were significantly higher than those of the others.Contents of TN and AP(available phosphorus)in slime substrates of the first two plants were(1.00±0.10)g/kg and(4.44± 0.12)mg/kg,(1.02±0.06)g/kg and(4.47±0.20)mg/kg,respectively,which were much higher than the control groups. The urease activity was notably higher than the control groups;neutral phosphatase after planting Glycine max and Aeachis hypo-gaea were(1.68±0.14)mg/(g·24 h)and(0.14±0.01)mg/(g·2 h),(2.32±0.27)mg/(g·24 h)and(0.14±0.02)mg/(g·2 h),much higher than that of the control groups.Statistical analysis showed that there was a significant positive correlation of the neutral phosphatase activity with the content of AP and TN,so did the normalized enzyme activity with the normalized nutrient con-tent and TN as well.In sum,the findings revealed that biomasses of Glycine max and Aeachis hypogaea was higher than those of Medicago sativa and Astragalus sinicus, thus significantly upgrading the nutrient level and enzyme activity of bauxite slime substrates. Therefore,Glycine max and Aeachis hypogaea could be used as pioneer plants for the improvement of bauxite slime substrates.
