Abstract:Restoration of the macrophyte, especially submerged macrophytes, in eutrophic waters, is regarded as one of the effective methods for controlling eutrophication. In recent decades, scholars and experts home and abroad have conducted a great deal of work researching and practicing the recovery of submerged plants in eutrophicated waters. On the other hand, the numerical models are increasingly being used in the study of this area because of being time saving and not limited by experimental condition. This paper reviewed and summarized the advances in the numerical modeling of submerged macrophytes and the related ecological restoration practices, meanwhile prospecting the future development, and aiming at contributing an adequate technical guidance to the remediation of eutrophicated water bodies with submerged macrophytes.
