Research Progress in the Adsorption of Water Pollutants on Molybdenum Disulfide Nanosheets

Abstract：Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is a layered compound with graphene-like structure. It has been considered to be a good adsorbent to water pollutants due to the advantages of chemical and thermal stability, large specific surface area, high reactivity, adjustable properties, and so on. In this paper, the microstructure, preparation and applications of MoS2 are introduced, especially the adsorption behavior of different water pollutants on MoS2 nanosheets are reviewed in details. Furthermore, the research hotspots and development trends relating to the applications of MoS2 nanosheets on the adsorption of environmental pollutants are prospected as well.
