Abstract:Effect of bacterial leaching water speed on copper lixiviation from waste printed circuit boards (WPCBs) in column leaching reactor was investigated.WPCBs particles of 2 500 g and particle size 8~10mm was leached by the flow rate of 40 mL/min and 20 mL/min three times respectively, after column leaching reactor was designed. The Thiobacillus ferrooxidans bacteria leaching water was cultured in 10 L of 4.5 K media, which inoculated by former leaching water. The change of ORP,Cu2+ concentration in leachiNG water,Fe2+ concentration and pH were investigated during leaching process. The precipitation occurred after leaching was cleaned using H2SO4 of 2 mol/L,after which precipitation was collected and analyzed for its ingredients. The leaching water speed of 20 mL/min performed better on Cu lixiviation than 40 mL/min did, with which Cu concentration was up to 2.593 mg/mL and 2.279 mg/mL in leached water respectively after WPCBs particles was leached. The pH in leached water after the leaching water speed of 20 rnL/min was higher than 40 mL/min did.The leached water with 20 mL/min was more conducive to the maintenance of Fe2+ concentration and high ORP in water, which was helpful for Cu lixiviation afterwards.Precipitation was cleaned by H2SO4 of 2 mol/L.Precipitation collected after H2SO4 leached mainly was CuSO4· 3H2O.The leaching water speed of 20 mL/min performed better on Cu lixiviation from 2 500 g WPCBs than 40 mL/min did.
