Abstract:This paper describes preparation and characterization of novel perovskite type catalysts for purification of pollutants including NOx,soot,CO and hydrocarbons in diesel exhaust. The catalysts were prepared by the citric acid complex method and LaMnO3 as a basic catalyst doped with Sr and Ce,as a result,La0.9Sr0.1MnO3 and La0.8Ce0.2MnO3 perovskite type catalysts were produced. The characterization of the catalysts by XRD and SEM,and the activity evaluation experiment were conducted and a quadruple-effect catalyst of higher catalyst activity was sorted out, which was then tested for its durability in sulfur environment. The results showed that these catalysts prepared all featured perovskite structure;among others,La0.9Sr0.1MnO3 could make the ignition temperatureof soot up to 239.9 ℃,in this way the majority of C3H6 and CO were removed after 300 ℃,and NOx conversion rate got higher.Performance of quadruple-effect catalyst was better than that of LaMnO3 catalyst doped with or without Ce,and further more, could counter against sulfur maintaining a certain catalytic activity.
