Abstract:Aerosol optical characteristics, the important basis for studying regional air pollution, are the key to studying aerosol environment and climate effects. In this paper, atmospheric aerosol optical thickness (AOD),Angstrom wavelength exponent (α) and turbidity index (/3) in Tieling region of Liaoning Province were analyzed by use of the POM-02 sun photometer observation data and ground meteorological data of Tieling region from April to October 2016,and the correlation between regional concentration of AOD/PM and meteorological factors was analyzed as well based on generalized additive model (GAM).These analyses suggested that AOD andβ were relatively large, while c was smaller in April,May and July;AOD and beta were relatively small, but α was large in June,August and October. The analysis by GAM model showed that factors such as PM concentration, temperature, wind speed, air pressure and relative humidity significantly affected regional AOD;meanwhile complex nonlinear relationship existed between the factors and AOD.Additionally, after the generalized cross validation (GCV) verification, the adjustment R2 of GAM model was 0.744,which indicated that the model could explain 74.4% changes of AOD.
