Simulation of Methane Emission from Paddy Fields in Shanghai
DAI Jie
Abstract:Methane emission from the paddy fields in different regions with various planting types in Shanghai was simulated using the CH4MOD model. The simulation study showed that the methane emission factor of paddy fields is 277.15 kg (hm2·a) in 2011,which was consistent with the results of previous studies, and the total methane emission from paddy field amounted to 29.4 thousand tons of CH4,equivalent to 617.5 thousand tons of CO2.In terms of the planting types, the'rice+ winter wheat'planting type was the main source of methane emissions, followed by'rice + green manure'planting types, both of which accounted for more than 95% of the total methane emission from paddy fields.Regionally,Chongming District,Jinshan District and farms in the suburban area were the three major sources of emissions, accounting for 54.25% of total emissions from paddy fields in Shanghai.
