Abstract:The microbial fuel cell was built with corn stalk hydrolysis solution as the anode substrate. The microbes on the anode of MFCs were from a fish pond sediment source bacteria, lactic acid bacteria, and saline-alkali soil source bacteria, respectively. The mechanism of these three kinds of bacteria for producing and transferring electrons were investigated. The maximum electricity output of the MFC systems were 435 mV,400 mV,316 mV,respectively. The maximum power density of the MFC systems were 60.5 mW/m2,53.9 mW/m2,43.3 mW/m2,respectively.The removal rate of COD of the MFCs systems were 86.27%,89.32%,82.31%,respectively.The fish pond sediment source bacteria had the highest activities according to CV curves. The diffusion of these three kinds of microorganisms was the Warburg impedance of the semi infinite diffusion, which was caused by the diffusion of oxygen in the electrode electrolyte solution.
