Abstract:With iron phosphomolybdate and camellia pollen grains as active components and biotemplates respectively, iron phosphomolybdate supported on silica (FePMo12/SiO2) composite with hollow micro ellipsoid structure was fabricated by a biotemplate synthesis and an improved sol-gel process.Physicochemical properties of the as-prepared samples were characterized in details by scanning electron microscopy (SEM),X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherm. Results indicate that the sample FePMo12/SiO2 has a similar shape with the pollen grains, which maintains the ellipsoidal shape. The value of the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area is as high as 115.95 m2/g,which is due to the hollow ellipsoidal structure and the wide pore diameter distribution.FePMo12/SiO2 has an excellent photocatalytic activity to degrade the Acid Red 3R solution (AR3R).The results demonstrate that when the initial concentration of AR3R is 100 mg/L,the pH is 3.0 and the catalyst dosage is 0.3 g/L,the degradation rate of AR3R is as high as 88.6% after simulated natural light irradiation for 75 min.FePMo12/SiO2 composite exhibits the high photocatalytic reusability and stability.
