Abstract:Effects of aluminum loading, initial pH value,POM and ferrous ions on the changes of hydrogen peroxide concentration and dye degradation in the zero valent-aluminum/acid//oxygen system were investigated. The study showed that the changes of H2O2 concentration presented certain regularity in different experiments.H2O2 concentration gradually increased at the initial stage and decreased after it reached a maximum point, finally H2O2 concentration tended to be stable. The increase of aluminum loading was helpful to improve H2O2 concentration in the zero-valent aluminum/acid/oxygen system. The stronger the acid, the more H2O2 generation was,and it required shorter time to reach the maximum concentration;among the study range of POM concentration,H2O2 concentration increased with the addition of POM.Fe2+ can occur Fenton reaction with H2O2 and generated ·OH,therefore, accumulation of H2O2 decreased with the increase of Fe2+ concentration while the Reactive Black 5 degradation efficiency increased in the zero valent-alhminum/acid/oxygen system.
