Abstract:Batch tests and dynamic soil column tests were conducted to investigate the influence of loamy sand, loam, loamy clay and clay on Cr (Ⅵ) remediation.Aimed at the variety of contaminated soil, the influence of various soil types was studied.Batch tests demonstrated that the best remediation result of CMC-nZVI was obtained with the removal rate of Cr (Ⅵ) up to 97.9% when the pH value of soil was 6.Soil column tests indicated that the penetrability of CMC-nZVI in colunn was great, with the order in different types of soil as loamy sand>loam>loamy clay>clay. The penetration rate of loamy sand and clay were 89% and 45% respectively. When the loamy sand column were treated with 6Bvs of 0.12 g/L CMC-nZVI,the maximum removal rate and reduction value were 98% and 181.4 mg/g respectively, while in the clay column, the value of maximum removal rate and reduction value were 65% and 108 mg/g respectively. The CMC-nZVI treatment reduced the TCLP leachability of Cr in the soil by 92%.The research shows that the use of CMC-nZVI as the dispersion and remediation system in Cr(Ⅵ) contaminated soil in-situ remediation is appropriate.
