Applicable Conditions of Ecological Bags for Rock Slopes Restoration

Abstract：This paper describes a technology of ecological bag which has been used for years in the country for greening bare rock slopes,and summarizes both its successes and failures in the application.In this paper,field investigation and indoor experiments were conducted in Jiaozuo City,Henan Province concerning ecological bags applied to the greening of rock slopes in terms of four aspects,i.e.the mechanical parameters,filling matrix,slope gradient and selection of the plants.The main conclusions drawn from the investigation indicated that better effects of slope treatment using ecological bag would be achieved when the slope angle is no more than 63°;Ecological bags with the rainfall infiltration coefficient greater than 0.36better fit for the need of the greening work.As to the plants in the ecological bag when being applied in the north China,alternative species are recommended such as Setaria viridis (L.)Beauv.,Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.and Festuca elata Keng ex E.Alexeev.
